Burglary suspects caught and arrested

Alert message sent 03/03/2019 17:23:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

#ARREST | We arrested four men in the early hours of this morning after officers responded to reports of a burglary in Northfield.

A member of the public dialled 999 just before 3.30am reporting men trying to break into a house in Westhaven Drive, Northfield.

It’s understood offenders snapped a lock to a porch door but were unable to get through a second interior door before being disturbed and making off.

Our officers responded in a matter minutes and spotted a Vauxhall Corsa driving away from the scene; they tried to pull the car over in Harborne High Street but it sped away before crashing moments later.

One man ran from the vehicle but three others aged 18, 19 and 20 were arrested at the scene. Another 18-year-old − believed to be the one who fled − was arrested about an hour later after presenting at hospital with injuries.

A lock-knife was recovered from the Corsa and early enquiries suggest the car was stolen in August last year.

All four have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and are in custody for questioning. A great result! 👍
