Suspected hare coursing incidents

Alert message sent 26/02/2019 09:16:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

In recent days Police Scotland have been called to 2 different rural areas in East Lothian by members of the public reporting suspected ongoing hare coursing incidents. Firstly, on 21/02/19 at Hoprig Farm, Gladsmuir, where it was reported that 2 males were seen with 2 large dogs within a field with a vehicle described as a silver Hyundai pick up. Secondly, on 24/02/19, at Redside Farm, Whitekirk, North Berwick, 4 males, all with dogs, were seen walking across a planted field in the area, despite a footpath situated adjacent to the field. This time a blue and grey Subaru Forrester vehicle was seen close to where these males were sighted. Police attended both locations and made a search for the males and vehicles with a negative result. Police Scotland would like to thank the vigilance of both members of the public for reporting these two seperate incidents and urge the public to report such matters by calling 101.
