Derbyshire Trading Standards Service warning and advice

Alert message sent 22/02/2019 15:16:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Derbyshire Trading Standards Service and the Police have been notified of a trader knocking on doors in the Little Eaton area, offering roofing and moss removal services.
The trader calls door-to-door and gives out a leaflet advertising the service.
However, we have been informed of an incident where the trader has become aggressive when the householder took a leaflet but did not want any work doing.
Apparently, the trader demanded to have the leaflet returned before leaving.
We would like to advise people not to be intimidated by anyone who acts in this way at your door. Simply return the leaflet and close the door.
Information regarding such an incident can then be given to Citizens Advice on 0345 4 040506 or by contacting the Police on 101.
If you are thinking about having work done on your property, please consider using a Derbyshire Trusted Trader – members of this scheme have been vetted and the quality of work is monitored by the Derbyshire County Council Trading Standards Service.
