Burglary prevention

Alert message sent 21/02/2019 16:59:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Citizen

There was an attempt burglary in Bearwood yesterday whereby the offenders have used a ladder that was in the back garden at the location. Fortunately, this time, the offenders were unable to gain entry into the property and made off empty handed.

It is appreciated that storage space inside properties is often limited, especially for things like ladders, so the obvious place to leave them is outside in the garden, in a shed or in a garage. If you do have to leave ladders outside try to secure them, preferably to an immovable object, with a chain and padlock to prevent them being opened, extended and used by offenders to try and break into your property.

Please remain vigilant and report anything you think is suspicious to us
