CRIME UPDATE (WESTBURY, WARMINSTER, TISBURY, MERE)  –  05/02/19 – 11/02/19

54190012238 Crime - Robbery 05/02/2019 22:55   ONE STOP SHOP, IMBER ROAD, WARMINSTER (ER11) at around 2255 hours a male suspect has entered the store with a knife and has stolen money from the till and 3 x packs of cigarettes. (believed linked to below Robbery 54190012429)

*UPDATE* - A man has been arrested following an armed robbery in Westbury on the 6th February.
On the evening of the 5th February, an armed robbery occurred at the One Stop shop in Warminster. Officers attended the scene, in Imber Road, and area searches were carried out but the offender was not located.
On the 6th February, at approximately 11.30am, we received a second report of an armed robbery at the One Stop shop in Westbury. A man is reported to have entered the store in Queens Road, with his face covered and carrying a knife.
Money was taken from the till and the man made off from the scene in a vehicle.
Descriptions of the offender and the vehicle were passed to officers who attended the scene and area searches commenced.
A 21-year-old man from Trowbridge was detained in Frogmore Road and has been arrested in connection with the incident. He was been taken to Melksham custody for questioning and later released under investigation on Police Bail.
Det Sgt Joe Saunders said: “While it is too early to say if these two incidents are linked, the circumstances and descriptions given are similar and this is one line of enquiry we will be further investigating.
“Fortunately, the staff members were not injured in today’s incident, however, they are understandably shaken up and upset."

54190012271 Crime - Burglary Business 06/02/2019 08:19   TROWBRIDGE ROAD, WESTBURY (EG11) At around 0143 hours on the 6th Feb two suspects have approached a premises. One suspect has picked up a concrete slab that was lying on the floor and thrown it at the lower window causing no damage. The second suspect has then thrown the slab at a double glazed window causing it to smash. The intruder alarm has then gone off and the suspects have run off without gaining entry to the premises.
 
54190012429 Crime - Robbery 06/02/2019 11:24   ONE STOP STORES,  QUEENS SQUARE, WESTBURY (EG11) A male  suspect entered store, approached staff and held out a knife and demanded money. He then stole money from the till and stole a Four Pack of Stella. Suspect then left the store. (see arrested male update from above crime report 54190012238)
 
54190012681 Crime - Burglary Business 07/02/2019 07:25   GREAT WESTERN AVENUE, FONTHILL GIFFORD (EB11) Overnight on the 4th Feb suspects have gained entry into a secure yard and tried to gain entry to a workshop via a roller door by driving a vehicle into them. They have then tried to drag a lock off the side door, by tying a large rope around the lock and pulling it with the vehicle. The rope has snapped and the lock is still in tacked.  No entry believed gained.
 
54190012690 Crime - Burglary Residential 07/02/2019 06:30   THREE HORSESHOES WALK, WARMINSTER (ER11) Overnight on the 6th Feb a suspect has gained entry to a property by breaking the bottom panel of the front door. Nothing believed stolen at this stage.
 
54190012733 Crime - Theft 07/02/2019 10:30   MATTHEW LEY CLOSE, WESTBURY (EG11) Overnight on the 6th Feb a suspect has entered the rear garden to a property, broken the latch off a shed and stolen 3 x bicycles. 1 x Carvelo R3 Road bike, black with blue markings, 1 x Cannondale Left Mountain bicycle, black, 1 x Specialized Mountain bicycle, blue and grey.
 
54190012811 Crime - Theft 07/02/2019 13:15   HILL DEVERILL (ER12) At around 1300 hours a male suspect was seen to remove a car battery from a drive to a property. IP gave chase. The suspect may have driven off in a Silver Ford Focus.
 
54190012928 Crime - Burglary Residential 07/02/2019 18:10   SMALLBROOK LANE, WARMINSTER (ER11) Between 1000 and 1500 hours suspect/s have broken into the feed store at some stables, the lock has been broken, nothing has been stolen.
 
54190012949 Crime – Vehicle offences 07/02/2019 19:31   LYNCH CLOSE, MERE (EV12) At around 1930 hours 3 suspects have been witnessed and disturbed while tampering with parked and unattended vehicles. The suspects made off empty handed.
 
54190013410 Crime - Burglary 09/02/2019 01:36   TUCKINGMILL, TISBURY (EB11) Overnight on the 7th Feb suspects have stolen items of horse equipment from some stables.
 
54190013473 Crime - Burglary Residential (Shed) 09/02/2019 10:36   HIGH STREET, HINDON (EB11) Overnight on the 8th Feb suspect(s) have broken a padlock on a shed and garage and then stolen the lead scraps that were in the shed.
 
54190013546 Crime – Criminal Damage 09/02/2019 15:18   STATION ROAD, WARMINSTER, (ER11) At around 1045 hours, youths have pulled a large metal crate on wheels and pushed it into the road, causing it to hit a passing vehicle, causing damage to the passenger side, taking paint off and causing a dent.
 
54190013757 Crime - Burglary Residential 10/02/2019 10:37   VICARAGE STREET, WARMINSTER (ER11) Overnight on the 9th Feb a suspect has entered an insecure rear garden and insecure shed and removed food from within a chest freezer.
