Warnings of Fraud
The criminal has numerous ways or techniques to draw you in for one reason only. They want your money. In essence the advice is similar for all types of fraud from the door step cold caller to the complex cybercrime.
Do not buy, sell or trade from an uninvited cold approach
Door callers, received letters, telephone calls or emails if uninvited, unknown or unwanted should not be taken up but disposed of immediately.
Consider the following pre-emptive action to prevent the first contact.
Register with the Mail Preference Service and Telephone Preference Service

Sign up to the Password scheme with your Utility companies
Operate a No Cold Caller scheme in your road
Use known or approved traders only
Consider using Telephone blockers
Use or sign up with one of the credit reference agencies
