Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

This message is dated Monday 14th January 2019 for Maidenhead.

I had a really good meeting with the Slough Rotary.  Many of their members come from RBWM as well as close areas.

If I come and make a presentation to you or your group, this is what I generally cover:

  • What is my role - as Community Engagement & Resilience Officer
  • How to contact the police – try online at the Thames Valley police website for the moment, as the PEC can take up to 30 minutes to respond.
  • Burglary – current MOs and how not to be a victim.
  • Car crime – keyless - how to protect your keys - Key fobs, make sure the car is locked.  What is stolen and why.
  • Scams / Frauds – At the door – Nottingham knockers / Bogus Builders / bogus charity collectors - On the phone – Courier Frauds / Windows scam - By email – Attachments / Extortion.  Letters – we haven’t had any of the Nigerian letters for some time, so I don’t bother

Then any questions.

It runs quite smoothly from topic to topic.  It is very interactive and I make sure it is always an amusing and fun evening – never boring.

We have now begun a new Facebook Page and will be posting information / pictures and videos there !!!
