Over the Festive period and if you are attending any festive functions, please follow the few simple rules below to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

Drink Safe:
  • Know your limits
  • Never leave your drink unattended
  • If you’re drink doesn’t taste right, don’t finish it
  • Look out for each other
  • Ensure you only accept drinks from people you know
  • If you choose to be a designated driver for your night out, make sure you stick to non-alcoholic drinks all night. The consequences of drink driving are serious #ItsNotWorthTheRisk
     

    Party Safe:
  • Drink and drugs can lead to poor decisions
  • Get a friend to keep an eye on your valuables if you need to pop to the toilet
  • You don’t need to take drugs to have a good time
  • If you think a situation is getting worse, try not to get involved and look for a way to leave
     Home Safe:
  • Let someone know where you are and when to expect you back
  • Plan your journey home in advance
  • Don’t get caught out - keep money aside for your transport home
  • Help your friends to get home safe too
  • If you walk alone at night, avoid shortcuts, stick to busy, well-lit areas
  • If you opt to get a taxi home, make sure to use a licensed taxi
