Robberies in Southampton

Alert message sent 21/02/2018 11:52:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Officers investigating two robberies in Southampton have released CCTV images of two men they are looking to trace.

Do you recognise these men?

These images show two men entering the One Stop store on Park Road just after 5pm on Sunday 18 February. It was reported they threatened staff and demanded money. One of the men indicated they had a gun, however no weapon was seen. The men fled before they managed to steal anything.

Later that evening, at 8.44pm we received a report of another robbery in Shirley. Again, the men had threatened the staff and demanded money from the till, claiming they had a gun. This time, in the Co-op on Foundry Lane. The staff handed over £100 and the men left, no-one was injured.

Officers are linking both reports.

Yesterday (Tuesday 20 February), we arrested two men aged 51 and 46-years-old from Southampton, and a third man aged 30-years-old from Totton, on suspicion of robbery as part of our investigation. They have since been released from police custody but remain under investigation.

We are now in a position to release these CCTV images. Do you recognise these men? Anyone with any information should call 101 and quote 44180065162.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and report information anonymously.
