Door to Door Leaflet Drops

Alert message sent 09/02/2018 18:51:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Good Evening,

I am sending this email to make you aware of a recent leaflet drop that was brought to our attention yesterday. Two leaflets have been delivered to addresses in the area offering to buy items of property. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide further details of this and at this time, there is nothing to suggest that this isn't above board.

However, I would like to remind everyone to be cautious if and when they receive leaflets that offer any form of services and consider the following questions -

- Do I want it?
- Do I need it done?
- Can I afford it?
- Can I get a quote from someone else?
- Is it good value?
- Have I been given a written estimate or quote?
- Do I know the name and address of this person?
- Do I have a telephone number for this person?
- Do I have a right to cancel?
- Is this from a registered company?

I would strongly suggest that you research any details of an alleged company/buyer before using them in order to minimise the risk of falling victim to a scam.

If you have any concerns around potential scammers or rogue traders, consider contacting either the Police on 101 or Trading standards/Action Fraud.

Kind regards,

PCSO 16340 Sean Woodward
