We have been advised that a potential scam is circulating in your area.
Incident 211 of 28 January relates to a request made by a man on a Skegness facebook site to assist him in getting cash. The man posted that he had lost his bank card so he is asking if he can transfer money to the person's account asking them to then give him a "get cash code" from Natwest bank. A Skegness resident reported the incident after becoming suspicious of the circumstances.
A similar incident was reported earlier the same day. Incident 104 relates to a resident, also in Skegness, who had responded to a plea on a Facebook group to help a man access cash by receiving a transfer and sending him a "get cash code" back.

Lincolnshire Police Economic Crime Unit are investigating the matter as a potential money laundering scheme and urging residents not to get involved with the people requesting help.
If you are contacted by a cold caller over the telephone or on your doorstep, please consider these points:
• Do I really need the work/equipment being offered, if I haven’t already asked for a quote?
• Will the person provide a written contract/quote?
• Have I obtained other quotes to ensure the price being quoted is reasonable?
• Have I obtained any references for this company or checked them on companies house to see if they are a registered company?
• Have I checked to see if they are qualified to carry out the work ie Gas Safe registered engineer?
If you are unsure of the company/person do not enter into or sign any agreement.
If a person refuses to leave your property, this is an offence and you should ring Tel: 101 to ask for assistance.
