Alert message sent 16/01/2018 15:12:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Members of the public will see an increased police presence in the area of Knowles Junior School in Queensway.

It’s after a man approached staff at the reception of the school at around 11.15am (16/1). The man was spoken to by staff and walked off after he was challenged by them.

A short while later a man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Inspector Nick Herceg, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “We have arrested a man in connection with his suspicious activity this morning and he is currently in custody. We are carrying out a thorough investigation, but we do not believe this man posed a threat to pupils or staff at the school.

“We are aware this would be worrying to parents, staff and pupils at the school, as such there will be an increased police presence at the school. Parents should not be alarmed but anyone with concerns should speak to one of our officers, or call 101.”
