Observations for iTunes Scams - 339 15 December 2017

Alert message sent 21/12/2017 11:37:00

Information sent on behalf of Devon and Cornwall Police

We have received a report of an elderly resident in Falmouth being conned by a male cold caller into purchasing a high value amount of Itunes vouchers in connection with a scam.

This was diligently noticed by a shop and reported to us.

The scammers were very forceful in manner and the resident felt the need to use a cover story for the purchase of the vouchers when asked by the shop staff.

We are asking for shops to report any persons requesting to purchase Itunes vouchers of a high amount or under suspicious circumstances, please do not carry out the transaction.

Please inform staff.

If you have any information or concerns please phone 101 quoting log 339 15 December 2017.

Thank you.
