Appeal for information after a burglary – Bedgrove

A burglary has been reported in the Bedgrove area of Aylesbury yesterday (7/12).

Between 1:15pm and 6:15pm offender(s) smashed the rear patio doors at a residence on Craigwell Avenue and make a messy search of all the rooms. At this time it is not confirmed what, if anything, has been stolen.

A neighbour saw a silver Volkswagen Golf parked outside the property at around 6pm, with a young driver. It isn’t confirmed if this connected to this burglary or not.

DC Tom Booth from Aylesbury Investigation Hub is investigating this crime. If you saw or heard anything suspicious in the area, or remember seeing a similar Golf please get in touch.

You can call DC Booth on the 24 hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43170364463.

If you don’t want to speak to the police or give your details you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or report it online.

Please take a moment to review your own security and help to prevent wintertime burglary:-

  • Make sure your home is locked and secure when you go out and overnight and if you have an alarm make sure you are using it.
  • If you are likely to return to your property after darkness consider using lights on timer switches, to make it look like someone is at home.
  • Fake TV simulator lights can also be purchased and utilised.
  • Radios can be left on, tuned in to a talk show, to make it sound like someone is in.
  • If you are going away, tell a trusted neighbour and maybe ask if they can park a vehicle on your driveway.
  • Report anyone acting suspiciously to the police on 101, or 999 in an emergency. Try to note what they look like, what they are wearing and details of any vehicle they might be using.
