Skimming Devices on ATM Machines Bell St Wigston

Alert message sent 21/11/2017 11:32:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

PCSO Vince Preston has been checking ATM machines in Wigston this morning, Tuesday Nov 21st and discovered that 2 machines in Bell Street Wigston had been fitted with card skimming devices.

Both ATM machines are now out of service awaiting repair.

The skimming devices have been stuck over the card reader and it is hard to spot but there is a lip around it.

If you think you might have used one of these machines recently you are advised to contact your bank and ask if there has been any card transactions that you are not aware of. If there is, your bank can go through the process with you.

There are photos of the machines in question on the South Leicester Facebook and Twitter pages.

Please be extra careful in the run up to Christmas as you will no doubt be using your card(s) a lot more both in the shops and online so please check your transactions regularly and report any to your bank that you don't recognise as soon as possible.

Kind regards
