Oakham & BarleythorpeInformation has been reported to your local neighbourhood team that 'street drinkers' are congregating in the Cutts Close Play Park area. We have also been informed that teenagers are drinking alcohol and possibly taking drugs whilst in the park at the weekends. Officers from Oakham have been patrolling the park throughout the weekends in the last month. Groups of youths have been congregating within the park but officers have found them to be chatting or playing sports. No drug misuse or drinking has been identified. We continue to work with our partner agencies in relation to the 'street drinkers' and we are waiting for a response from local government after a joint application was made to obtain a 'public space protection order'. This will assist us in tackling the issues identified.

Rutland North & SouthWe have had repeated calls of hare coursing throughout the month of September with a number of vehicles being driven across newly drilled farmers land causing damage. We have continued with high visibility patrols, have conducted 2 operation ‘Galileo’s’ and have seized two vehicles used in the commission of these offences. We will be out there again this month and ask farmers and members of the public to report any suspicious activity. We have continued to tackle this issue with targeted High visibility patrols on both Rutland North and Rutland South beats this month. With the use of the new ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera, which is being used for Op Galileo and to target the increase in Burglaries on the South of Rutland we have seized several vehicles this month. We are working closely with the local residents and farmers who continue to help our efforts and offer support to this issue and ask that if anything suspicious is seen to report through 101.
