Alert message sent 20/10/2017 14:38:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

We have released CCTV images of two men we would like to speak to in connection with an incident in which £400 was stolen from an elderly man in Basingstoke.

Between 2.30pm and 3pm on Friday 13 October, the 88-year-old victim was approached outside his home address in the Popley area by two men who took his bank card from him and used it to withdraw the cash from a nearby cash point.

The men then returned and asked the man for another bank card, claiming they could not withdraw any money from the initial card.

They were then disrupted by a member of the public before getting into a van and driving off.

Officers would like to identify the two men in the CCTV images to speak to them as part of the investigation.
