Scam Letter Alert

Alert message sent 14/09/2017 19:00:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Hello All,

It has come to our attention recently that a number of residents across the beat area have received letters from a company called  RMS. The letters appear in the form of an invoice and state they are a charge for services used for " telephone sex service ".

The letter goes on to say that a charge of £75.00 must be paid within 8 days or a default notice will be issued.

These are scam letters designed to shock the recipient in to parting with both money and bank details.  These PHISHING letters are like the fraudulent emails that are sent out once in a while. They want people to pay or divulge their details.

DO NOT RESPOND. DO NOT PAY. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY DETAILS.

Be alert. If you should receive one of these letters, do not be alarmed, simply discard it.

Kindest Regards
PCSO 6582 Lorna Barrett.
