Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Police & Crime Commissioner

Officers investigating two crimes where property belonging to staff has been stolen would like to remind people to keep their property secure whilst at work.

On Tuesday, July 25 at 3pm a man entered STS Synergy PLC on Ascot Drive via an insecure door and allegedly stole two phones and tobacco from a desk in the office.

Two weeks later on Thursday, August 10 at 10.25am a wedding ring and cash was taken from an insecure locker at Birds Ltd on the same road.

PC Robert Smith who is investigating the thefts said: “I would like to take this opportunity to remind people working in business premises to keep their property safe.

“This can be done by locking things away in lockers or drawers and not leaving them on display. Always leave any valuables at home wherever possible.

“Also ensure that outside doors are kept secure and fire exits are not left open.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Smith on 101 quoting reference numbers 17000341417 and 17000328112.
