Be On Look Out for Bogus Callers in Delves

Alert message sent 09/06/2017 14:50:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Dear Citizen

As you may be aware, South Staffs Water will be starting work on the water mains in the Delves area next week, work which will last for several months.  This may provide opportunities for criminals to prey on the elderly and vulnerable in the area posing as ‘water board’ officials or South Staffordshire Water employees to gain access to homes with the intention of stealing cash, jewellery or whatever else they can find.

Help us reduce this risk by keeping your eyes open for anyone acting suspiciously in the area. Legitimate workers will be carrying identification, even so, there should be no reason for them to enter people’s homes.  If someone claiming to be from South Staffs Water requests to enter your home you should therefore carefully check their identity and question their purpose before allowing them to enter.  South Staffs Water can be contacted on 0800 389 1011.

If you do see anything suspicious contact the police immediately by dialling 101.

Please share this message with your neighbours.
