Waste scam

Alert message sent 19/04/2017 13:19:00

Information sent on behalf of Lincolnshire Police

Good afternoon, this is a message from PC Craig Lockton, Spalding Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Farmers have been approached recently and asked if they wanted tarmac road plannings that can be used to repair roads and farmyards on their land.

The Environment Agency issued a warning last week after 2 farmers in the Grantham area locally suffered the same fate, with one of them facing an estimated bill of £300,000 to dispose of the waste after they found baled rubbish on their land instead of the promised tarmac road plannings.

The Environment Agency is urging all landowners to be wary and not become the next victim of illegal waste disposal and dumping.
