Hang up on fraudsters

Alert message sent 23/03/2017 16:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Dorset Alert

For your information....

Are you receiving scam telephone calls and or email? We still receive a number of calls from local residents to report these issues, with the most recent being a report of a BT scam telephone call whereby the caller tried to scam the victim into believing there was an issue with her computer.

This is just a gentle reminder, as we have previously advised residents of our "Hang Up on Fraudsters" campaign, however please continue to simply hang up when you realise that a call is unwanted and never give any personal details to anyone who calls you.

Telephone and Email scams are dealt with by Action Fraud - The National Fraud & Cyber Crime Reporting Centre who can be contacted on 0300 123 20 40 or you can submit reports online at http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-a-fraud/how-to-report-a-fraud

Many thanks. PCSO 5104 Adam Fitzwalter
