Hello and welcome

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Good Morning Citizen,

Welcome to WMNow

Those of you that have had to call the police have, at times, expressed a real and understandable frustration at not being able to get through to an operator as quickly as you'd want. To resolve this issue so we can provide an improved level of service the West Midlands Police are recruiting and training a lot of new staff to support the demands on the police.

In the very near future you will see WMP become far more accessible through the internet with online reporting, victims being able to check the progress of investigations and better access to our staff and partners. These improvements are designed to make us more accessible and more effective. Call operators will then have more capacity to be able to focus on the calls that matter to you.

For most people the first point of contact with the police is through a telephone call which is why considerable time, money and effort is being put into making sure that if you should ever need us you get the quality of service you deserve.
Also, all front facing officers now have police mobile devices which mean we can do more work whilst out and about.
We look forward to working more closely with you and your community, we will continue to keep you updated with issues that impact where you live.

Regards
Amanda
