Alert message sent 04/02/2017 10:32:00

Information sent on behalf of Dorset Alert

Good morning.

This is an alert message from the Central Christchurch Neighbourhood Policing Team.

At 10.10pm on Thursday 2nd February a male knocked on the door of Avondene Residential Home in Stanpit. He informed staff that he was stuck in Christchurch with his elderly parents, had lost his wallet and was asking for £40 for petrol to get him back to Coventry.

Male was on his own and staff did not see a vehicle. They did not give him any money and told him to leave.

Male was described as in his 50's with grey hair just below his ears, he was approx 5 foot 9 and of plump build wearing a black or navy sweatshirt with Berghaus written on it.

A similar male was reported using the same MO to get some money out of a lady in Russell Drive approx 4 months ago.

If anyone has seen this male or has any further information please contact Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111 or Dorset Police on 101 quoting reference number 16912.

Many thanks.
