Alert message sent 29/12/2016 13:48:00

Information sent on behalf of Surrey Police

Dear Citizen,

In the recent weeks many farmers will have started to receive funds through the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS), the European Union’s main rural payments scheme.

Unfortunately fraudsters are aware of this, and nationally there have been reports of criminals specifically targeting the agricultural sector in order to commit high value fraud.

The Metropolitan Police have issued advice on how to avoid being the victim of this type of scam.
You can find their advice here:

Can I urge you to read the article, and pass it on to anyone who you feel may be at risk of this type of fraud.

Thank you.
