Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Police & Crime Commissioner

Visitors to Bakewell’s Agricultural Centre were keen to pick up advice on how to protect their property from crime.
PCSOs Anthony Boswell and Ian Phipps set up shop at the Agricultural Centre in Bakewell on Monday, October 24 to offer security advice to farmers and residents living in the rural communities.
During the day, the officers spoke to visitors about the steps that they can take to protect themselves and their property from crime, along with giving farmers the opportunity to pick up new signs for their land.
Visitors were also able to purchase cut-price security products such as heavy duty chains and alarms to keep their farm equipment and vehicles secure.
PCSO Anthony Boswell said: “Events such as this are a great opportunity for us to head out into the community and speak with farmers about the ways that they can increase their security and protect themselves from opportunists.
“Overall the event was a great success. Many farmers visited our stall to chat to us about how they can boost the security of their farm equipment, along with taking the opportunity to pick up new Farm Watch signage.”
