SCAM ALERT - Skegness

This is an ALERT message from PCSO Dave Bunker of the Skegness Neighbourhood Policing team.

On the 29th February an unexpected phone call was received by a resident in Skegness.  The caller stated that they were a bailiff and demanded a large sum of money be deposited into a bank account. The caller gave account details and stated that if the funds were paid in immediately then the amount would be reduced.

This is suspected to be a SCAM.

Never disclose any personal information over the telephone and never transfer funds into a bank account under these circumstances.

Please alert friends and family of this and other scams detailed in "The Little Book Of Big Scams" especially those who may not access the Internet or who are not members of Lincs Alert.

If you have received such calls please report to police by calling 101.
